Immersive Art Exhibitions in Paris in 2023 and 2024
Immersive art has become very popular across many of the world’s major cities, such as London, New York, Miami and Denver. Likewise, Paris is regularly host to several immersive art exhibitions and experiences to enjoy if you are visiting the city. These exhibitions combine technology, such as virtual reality and motion tracking, as well as the re-imagining of the work of old masters, to create an engaging and all-inclusive art experience.
In this blog post I have provided details of some great immersive art venues and exhibitions in Paris. Whether you live in Paris or are visiting the city, these immersive art exhibitions would be well worth a visit.

Atelier des Lumières is a digital art museum and cultural space with regular programme of immersive art exhibitions and is the top location in Paris in which to experience this form of art. This venue is perfect for immersive art experiences, being located in a converted 19th Century iron foundry.
Since this venue opened in 2018, it has hosted numerous immersive art exhibitions, including shows based on the works of Gustav Klimt, Vienna Secession, Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Marc Chagall.
The programme for 2023 looks equally as impressive.
‘Convergence: Colors and Sounds’ is open from 17th February 2023 to 7th January 2024. This exhibition seeks to immerse the senses of the visitor through the use of sound and colour. This exhibition begins in a light meditative silence then moves towards a sense of chaos and darkness.
‘Chagall, Paris-New York’ is open from 17th February 2023 to 7th January 2024. The immersive exhibition showcases the prolific work of Marc Chagall across his career from 1887-1985, spanning his time in Paris and New York which represent key stages in the development of his artistic style. Chagall's work evolved through exposure to avant-garde movements in Paris in the 1910s which he combined with his own cultural references. New York provided a place of exile in the 1940s but also new creative inspiration for Chagall. The projections are set to music ranging from classical to klezmer and jazz which were influences on Chagall.
‘Paul Klee: Painting Music’ is open between 17th February 2023 and 7th January 2024. The immersive exhibition pays tribute to Paul Klee's two passions - painting and music. It highlights the pictorial range and imagination in Klee's colourful and poetic works. The 10-minute immersive exhibition is devoted to the works of Paul Klee. The exhibition highlights Klee's colourful and imaginative works, despite their childlike appearance. The exhibition is accompanied by music from The Magic Flute, reflecting Klee's fascination with opera and Mozart. Visitors can stroll around an imaginary city with opera overtures, subaquatic concertos and geometric structures.
‘Oceans, the immersive Odyssey’ is open from 20th October 2023 to 7th January 2024. This exhibition features breathtaking underwater photography by renowned National Geographic photographer Brian Skerry. The exhibit celebrates the wonders and fragility of the underwater world. The Odyssey exhibition takes visitors on a voyage through the mysteries and wonders of the underwater world in tropical, temperate, and arctic seas that Skerry has explored over four decades. It showcases the diverse marine life from colourful reef fish to majestic turtles, orcas, playful dolphins, sharks, and seals.

Grand Palais Immersif is a new art and exhibition space located near Bastille in central Paris. This art venue seeks to provide a programme of audio, visual, interactive and immersive content.
‘Eternal Mucha’ is open between 22nd March 2023 and 5th November 2023. This immersive exhibition seeks to celebrate Alphonse Mucha, the Czech painter and avant-garde artist. The exhibition explores his works from the 1900’s, his connection to the Paris Universal Exhibition and his masterpieces, such as The Slav Epic.
‘Juergen Teller, i need to live’ is open between 16th December 2023 and 9th January 2024 at Grand Palais Ephemere. Juergen Teller is an internationally renowned photographer known for his candid celebrity portraits, fashion photography, and personal projects exploring his identity and roots. This exhibition will showcase both his personal and commercial work including recognizable images, new photo series, videos, and installations. It aims to celebrate the value of human existence through Teller's straightforward, realist photography style and his documentation of meaningful moments in his life.
‘L'art urbain à l'ère numérique’ (Urban Art in the Digital Age) at Grand Palais Immersif is open between 6th December 2023 and 21st July 2021. This exhibition will present the history of urban art and the impact of digital technologies. It will unfold across the monumental spaces of Grand Palais Immersif. The exhibition will cover urban art from New York subways to murals, graffiti, and spectacular reappropriations. Visitors will discover urban art through digital experiences with music by Roque Rivas. It will also show how urban art has changed with the internet and social media.

The World of Banksy is a permanent immersive experience that is conveniently located in central Paris, in the Montmartre district. This exhibition takes the visitor along a series of themed artworks. There is a mixture of canvases, framed images and street art, supported by video clips and music. There are over 100 of Banksy’s famous urban artworks on display. This exhibition celebrates the mystery and thought-provoking aspects of Banksy and his work.

Jam Capsule is an immersive exhibition that takes the visitor through a series of visual and auditory universes. The visitor experiences a variety of art forms including music, painting, moving images, nature and architecture.
The first of the worlds is ‘Japon, Un Autre Regard’, which provides an immersive experience of Japanese culture displayed on a 360° screen. The visitor sees images of the snow of Hokkaido Island to the turquoise waters of Okinawa and will learn about the day-to-day life of Japanese people.
‘Legacy, Le Courage De La Verite‘ by Yann Arthus-Bertrand is an exploration of the beauty of the world and the damage people inflict on it. Visitors will see images of the Magadi Lake salt pans in Kenya, the immense facades of the buildings of New York or Hong Kong set to the music of Armand Amar.
‘Peintres Flamands’ by Tom Volf is a journey through the artworks of the Flemish masters. This exhibition will transport visitors into the heart of the images, with a captivating soundtrack that combines a mix of lyrical and contemporary music.
‘Maria by Callas, L'expérience’ immerses visitors in the world of the singer Maria Callas. This exhibition involves giant projections allowing the visitor to enjoy the singer’s greatest songs and experience the intense emotions that her powerful voice inspired.
‘Zingaro Ex Anima’ is adapted from the show Ex Anima, created by the horse trainer, Bartabas, to pay tribute to his horse. Ex anima pays homage to equine animals, and to the very special relationship they have with humans. In Zingaro Ex Anima the horses appear alone on stage, as the stars of the show, performing poetic scenes.
The duration of the experience is approximately 50 minutes.
