Dopamine Land London: Immersive Multisensory Experience

Dopamine Land is located in Kensington. It is a multisensory experience that combines media, technology and play to harness your imagination and boost positive emotions of joy. This experience is particularly good with children.

The gallery is made up of individual rooms, each with its own experience, from the mazed mirror, to the digital forest that imitates the natural spaces. There is also a popcorn room, with the smells and sights of popcorn.

The experience typically lasts around 30-50 mins, but the Bubble Bar is unlimited, where you can have Bubble Teas and Bubble Cocktails.

Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirror Rooms

Yayoi Kusama is an early pioneer of immersive art, having created her first Infinity Mirror Room back in 1965 at the Castellane Gallery, New York. These installations create endless reflections of light, colour and movement. Since then, there have been over 20 Infinity Mirror Rooms in many major cities around the world.

This is a rare chance to experience two of Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirror Rooms at the Tate Modern, London. One room is called Filled with the Brilliance of Life and is one of Kusama’s largest installations to date. The second room is called Chandelier of Grief, which creates an endless universe of rotating crystal chandeliers.

There are photographs and moving images displayed alongside the rooms to give additional historical context for the installations.

It is worth noting that you get just a few minutes in each room. It is enough time to enjoy the installation and take photos, but you are not able to linger. This should be taken into consideration when planning your visit.

There is an option to include a lunch or dinner at the Kitchen and Bar with the ticket for this exhibition, where the menu is inspired by the work of Yayoi Kusama. The Kitchen and Bar is on an upper floor of the Tate Modern, providing fantastic views of St Paul’s Cathedral, the River Thames and the City of London. I can recommend this option, with the meal providing a lovely compliment to the exhibition and prolonging your experience.
